About Us

Hello! I’m Mary Cragin, owner of The Gardens at Padden Creek. I would like to welcome you to an unusual garden shop and plant nursery. 

My staff and I are here to help you select plants and pots for your garden, help you with critters large and small who dine on your plants, advise for best growing conditions, and best of all perhaps; help generate ideas for garden or container plantings.

We stock carefully selected varieties of annuals, perennials, shrubs and a few trees. We have a handsome – not overwhelming – selection of winter hardy pots. Also, gloves, tools, fertilizers, soil, compost, and some local and not local garden art. 

And, of course, while you are here, we hope you will meander through the pathways and enjoy seeing the planted gardens and various structures to find inspiration for your garden! Also take a moment or two to chat with the chickens and keep a lookout for Andy, the alpaca, who resides in the back pasture (It’s his job to keep it mowed….). Occasionally you’ll see plein aire artists with their easels and sketch pads also taking inspiration from the gardens.
